With an opening goal of December, the owners of Burlingame’s La Boheme have inked a deal to open a 200-seat French-American bistro at the long-shuttered 555 Golden Gate Avenue, which was recently home to Trader Vic’s and earlier, Jeremiah Tower’s Stars. As the Scoop reports, they’ll be devoting part of the space to a patisserie, serving pastry and cakes à la La Boheme. The opening date sounds ambitious to us, given that the place probably needs a significant facelift, but these restaurateurs are probably wise to snap up the space now, right as a whole new crop of office workers are set to move in to the snazzy, soon-to-be-completed (but still under construction) S.F. Public Utilities Commission building next door. [Scoop]
