The East Bay’s ravenous appetite for Bakesale Betty’s fried chicken sandwich — of which they can sell upwards of 1,000 a day — has left the owners and staff of the bakery’s two locations a bit frazzled and fatigued. After a particularly insane day recently, co-owner Michael Camp (husband of Betty herself, Alison Barakat) decided they couldn’t handle keeping both locations open at the same time and still maintain a quality product, as the Scoop reports. Without wanting to close either their Temescal or Broadway location just yet, they’re putting the entire staff in one or the other location, with Temescal open Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Broadway location open Tuesdays only for the rest of the year, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“There’s crazy demand still,” says Camp, and the decision is merely based on Look for a decision to get made about possibly expanding hours again in early 2012.
