Canela, the new Spanish-style bistro that took over the former Capri Ristorante space at 2272 Market Street, quietly opened the other day for both lunch and dinner — and a bonus for Castro denizens: they're serving until midnight on weekends. The menu, as promised, is tapas-focused, with a variety of swell sounding small plates like croquettes, a meat plate, albondigas, garlicky gambas (shrimp), and a variety of salads. Also, they're doing cocas (flatbreads) topped with sausage or vegetables. We'll try to score a full menu for you shortly, but in the meanwhile, take a gander at our slideshow of the much improved interior. This one really went from sad to rad in no time.
