Eat Cuban Food From Top Chef Alum Josie Malave Tomorrow at the Corner

Josie Malave, formerly the executive chef at Norwood in NYC and one-time Top Chef-testant, is planning a move to the Bay Area in January, and she’s getting her feet wet already by hosting three consecutive Saturday pop-ups at The Corner (Mission and 18th) starting tomorrow, under the moniker Global Soul Café. The menu will change for each, but tomorrow’s theme is Miami Nights, as Eater tells us, celebrating Josie’s Cuban heritage — and bringing a cuisine to S.F. not often seen in these parts. The hours for the dinner are 5 to 11 p.m., Saturday, September 17. Also be on the lookout for the launch of her popsicle company, Queen of Pops, which will launch out of S.F. next spring. [Eater]
