Mikey Doesn't Like It

Bauer Cannot Abide Overpriced Cocktails

Despite the fact that our friends in New York frequently pay fifteen bucks and above for their well-mixed libations these days, cocktail prices in S.F. have remained well below that even in some of the city’s best bars. But now Michael Bauer notes a disturbing trend afflicting places like RN74 and Southern Pacific Smokehouse in Novato where prices for Manhattans and such have reached $13. Now, those are his only two examples, and he goes around surveying current prices at a half dozen other bars like Comstock Saloon and Bar Agricole, where things still hover in the $10 range. So maybe we’re still safe from this inflation for a little while.
