The pizza experts over at Slice have decided it is finally time, after the Bay Area pizza explosion of the last few years, to provide their definitive eight-pie canon of the best in S.F. They choose eight specific pies at eight pizzerias, and though a few choices are easily predictable — the filetti at Una Pizza Napoletana is an obvious must, as is panna with sausage at Pizzeria Delfina, nicknamed the "Magic Pie" — a few more are less obvious choices, like the pizza focaccia at Liguria Bakery in North Beach, and tried-and-true sausage with onion at Emilia's in Berkeley. As for their favorite margherita, that prize goes to Pizzeria Picco in Larkspur — and owner Bruce Hill's S.F. off-shoot, Zero Zero, gets snubbed. [Slice]
