Dijon’s Best Chefs Come to the Ferry Building

In conjunction with the medieval tomb sculptures exhibit opening at the Legion of Honor this Saturday (direct from Musée des Beaux-Arts de Dijon in France), there’s a weeklong flurry of Dijon-centric events around the theme “Mustard, and Much, Much More” (since the city is most known for, well, Dijon mustard).

Of key interest to foodies and Francophiles, the week includes five visiting Dijon chefs with four Michelin stars: Stephane Derbord of Restaurant Stephane Derbord, William Frachot of Le Chapeau Rouge, Yves Rebsamen of Chez Guy, Jean-Pierre and Alexis Billoux of Le Pré aux Clercs. They’ll be doing cooking demos and chatting with the public this Saturday (8am-2pm), and Tuesday, 8/23 (10am-2pm) at CUESA’s Ferry Building Farmers Market. Some of the Burgundian treats they’ll be serving include basil King Crab tartare or organic stuffed chicken breast with Burgundy escargot and, naturally, Dijon mustard. Details here. [Grub Street]
