It’s going to be a long summer of eating for some of us as the food fest circuit kicks into high gear. Our colleagues might be enjoying themselves over in Aspen right now, but we’re saving room for things like the East Bay Food Fight (July 23) and S.F. Chefs (August 1 to 7). See the rundown below.

JUNE
Pinot Days Grand Festival Tasting - June 18
Taste 500 different Pinots from over 200 producers at Fort Mason.

Yelp’s Sunset Showdown - June 26
Picture a bunch of food vendors, some bands, and mayhem at the Craneway Pavilion on the water in the East Bay.

San Francisco Magazine’s Best of the Bay Area - June 30
The annual blowout has a steep admission price ($100) but comes with a lot of fine food and drink, and a veritable who’s who of the S.F. scene.

JULY

Sonoma in the City Grand Tasting - July 12

East Bay Food Fight - July 23
Alice Waters is judging this year! And the fun goes down at Jack London Square.

Gilroy Garlic Festival - July 29

AUGUST

S.F. Chefs - August 1 to 7
This has become the centerpiece fest of the year for local chefs and bartenders, and is a rollicking good time.

San Francisco Street Food Festival - August 20
Even growing four times larger last year didn’t save us from standing in some major lines. We recommend getting in and out early, but there’s always some good stuff to eat.

SEPTEMBER

Ghirardelli Square Chocolate Festival - September 10 to 11

National Heirloom Exposition, Santa Rosa
- September 13 to 15

Eat Real - September 23 to 25
Oakland’s big street food and urban agriculture blowout is rescheduled a month later this year so it won’t be packed in with Outside Lands and the S.F. Street Food fest.
