SF Underground Changes Hands, Won’t Change Its Face

The afore-blogged-about sale of the Lower Haight’s Underground SF (424 Haight Street) prompted some speculation about the place possibly closing or transforming into something new. But newly former owner “Cip” Cipriano assures us that new owners Stephen and Donna Johnson have no transformative plans. All the same parties from the same promoters will continue to happen there (including the popular Saturday gay rotation of Cock Fight, Mall Madness, and Indie Cent), and folks probably won’t know the difference. Cip now plans to do some traveling, and may just return in a few months to open another bar elsewhere. [Grub Street]
