You may have heard that a few places around town, including the Fairmont Hotel and Quince/Cotogna, have installed beehives on their roofs, both to help the environment and harvest their own honey. Well now the restaurant housed under the ornate, Julia Morgan-designed domes inside the Fairmont Hotel, Laurel Court, is launching a special menu next month, available only to Blackboard Eats subscribers, that celebrates the one-year anniversary of their resident bee colonies, which now number over 100,000. Chef JW Foster’s three-course menu will cost $50, and will be available from July 7 to August 5. [Grub Street]
