Sunset has been busy trying to compare the food scenes in San Francisco and L.A., and we kind of have to call bullshit not just because S.F. loses by one point, but that's certainly part of our contempt. Josh Sens does a fine job of defending his city, but somehow Ludo Lefebvre's LudoBites is declared "the first important pop-up restaurant" (that title should probably go to Mission Street Food, if not Saison), and that and a couple of food trucks add up to the winning point that pushes L.A. to the top in the category of "new ideas." WHAT-ev-er, Sunset. Alan Richman thinks we're pretty goddamn awesome and innovative up here, so you can just go eat a few more Korean tacos and catch up with 2009, K?
