Keiko à Nob Hill to Take Le Club/Charles Nob Hill Space

The former owners of El Paseo in Mill Valley, Seigo Takei and his wife Keiko Takahashi, have signed a lease for the space most recently occupied by Le Club at 1250 Jones Street, as the Chron is reporting. Le Club closed “temporarily” in February (we told you they’d probably stay closed), and some of you may remember that the same formal dining space in the Clay-Jones Apartments was once home to Charles Nob Hill, which closed in 2004 and had seen many talented local chefs move through its kitchen, including Melissa Perello, Michael Mina, and Jeremy Fox. Takei and Takahashi have been on the hunt for a new space with a pedigree for a while — they were rumored a while back to have been interested in the former Café Mozart spot that the Sons & Daughters guys got.

Takei and Takahashi are calling the new project Keiko à Nob Hill for now, but the name might be in flux — it’s definitely going to be Keiko something. Takahashi, who’ll serve as chef, plans to do something very similar to what she was doing at El Paseo when she earned a Michelin star: a blend of the French and Japanese kaiseki styles. They’re hoping to open this summer.
