Al’s Reopens as Al’s Super Café, Outerlands Does Drinks, and More

Bernal Heights: Al’s Café Good Food (3286 Mission Street), which recently closed after 50 years and changed hands, has only barely morphed into Al’s Super Café. It’s still a diner, just a little more sterile and less kitsch-filled, and some Yelpers say the food’s just fine. [Grub Street]
Outer Sunset: Outerlands, which we hear has been doing some good stuff, food-wise, of late under chef Brett Cooper, has just added a cocktail program. [Grub Street]
North Beach: Coi chef de cuisine Evan Rich has departed the kitchen, along with wife Sarah Rich, and the two might have a new project in the works. They’re also doing a pop-up at Radius July 11. [Scoop]
Noe Valley: Amberjack Sushi, which we noticed going on the market a full year ago, has closed. Rumor has it another Japanese restaurant is moving in. [Noe Valley SF]

Tenderloin: Maharani (1122 Post) has not actually closed, as it looked like they were going to (a deal to put a bar in there seems to have fallen through?) and the food is as good as ever. [Tender]
West Portal: Café for All Seasons has closed. [Scoop]
Napa: A third branch of Taste of the Himalayas has recently opened at 376 Soscol Avenue, from chef Pemba T. Sherpa, who also owns Taste of the Himalayas in Sonoma and Sausalito (a fourth location in Berkeley is owned by a business partner). And no, he has never climbed Mount Everest. [Napa Valley Register]
Also, Eiko’s opened on Friday at Napa Town Center, near Oenotri, from chef Eiko Nakamura. [Scoop]
