You know those cute little parking-space-sized pocket parks that have been all the rage outside cafés with little to no sidewalk seating of their own? Well, one such Oakland parklet vanished last week, and the owners of Actual Café (6334 San Pablo Avenue) say a thief came and slipped the parklet in their pocket! The parklet appears to have been nabbed between 5:40 and 6 p.m. on May 18, according to Oakland Local, and some neighbors were able to get a license plate down, so hopefully this will come to justice. Since the Oakland Police now make you report thefts via their website and clearly don't treat them as a priorty, Actual Café is seeking help from the community via Facebook. The motive for the theft remains unclear, but, you know, Burning Man lumber doesn't come cheap. [Oakland Local via SFist]
