Finally some delightful news: Ernest Morgan just finished up 24 years behind bars this morning and walked out of San Quentin into the sun — he was convicted, at age 18, of second-degree murder in the death of his step-sister. Morgan is an avid Check, Please! Bay Area viewer, and on his agenda for his first day of freedom, as the Appeal reports, after a stop in at Grace Cathedral, is a trip to Mama’s in North Beach, because after seeing one of their omelettes on the show, he hasn’t been able to get them out of his mind. Later, he says, he’d like to catch a Giants game. [Appeal]
