Yesterday we noted the tragic news that Local: Mission Eatery lost one of their cooks, Ryan Sitko, to a motorcycle accident over the weekend. Owner Yaron Milgrom writes in the restaurant’s newsletter of the loss to his staff, “please remember that when you enter a restaurant-any restaurant-that that place runs on the fullness of life, the fullness of these peoples’ lives: their training and passion, their burned forearms and smiles, their families and, more than I ever understood, their trust and love of the men and women to their left and right, this family that works, eats, bleeds, travels, celebrates, and grieves together.” Also, as they mourn, he writes of their third winemaker dinner, with Chris Brockway of Broc Cellars, tonight, May 25.
