Top Chef Alum Preeti Mistry Emerges From Obscurity to Launch Indian Street Food Pop-Up


Remember Preeti? She was one of a pair of Bay Area people on Top Chef Season 6, and she got eliminated kind of early. But today the Scoop brings word that she's launching Juhu Beach Club, and Indian street food pop-up within the Garage Café at 320 11th Street (across from Bar Agricole). As they report, "The menu is inspired by her recent trip to Mumbai, where she stayed in the Juhu Beach neighborhood," and it's going to include things like samosas, house-made pickles, and a vegetarian Sloppy Joe-type thing called pav bhaji, made with local vegetables, pickled red onions and served on an Acme burger bun. Look for Juhu Beach Club to be open for lunch only, weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., starting Tuesday, March 15. [Scoop]
