Three Japan Benefits in Healdsburg, Greenburgers Opens, and More

Healdsburg: Cyrus chef Douglas Keane feels a great kinship with Japan, and has even spent time in Sendai. He’s organized three separate benefits for earthquake and tsunami relief at three separate price points: Healdsburg Bar & Grill ($20, March 29), Shimo Modern Steak ($40, April 4), and Cyrus ($450, April 19) which will include a star roster of guest chefs: David Kinch, Corey Lee, James Syhabout, Michael Cimarusti, Nichole Plue, and Keane himself. Lower Haight:
Greenburgers (518 Haight), which will in fact serve meat burgers, opens today. [Haighteration]

Jackson Square: Chef Mourad Lahlou tells Zagat that the food at the new, downtown Aziza will be taken “up a notch,” and he doesn’t expect to open before October. [Zagat]


FiDi:
La Salsa (280 Battery) has closed, due to franchise abandonment. [Eater]

Napa: Ubuntu has opened up a few more menu options, besides the standard prix fixe. Starting March 28th, chef Aaron London will start offering a new $50 family-style, six-course menu; a $65 five-course chef’s tasting; and a $35 three-course option. [Eater]

And ex-Martini House guys, chef Todd Humphries and business partner Richard Miyashiro, have hired two more Martini House alums for the team at Kitchen Door (644 1st Street, Napa), opening this spring at Oxbow Public Market: Christopher Litts (previously chef de cuisine) and Tim Seberson (general manager).
