Sunset Magazine is on a tear this year, having published that big cookbook in the fall and now about to release a second book, based on their One-Block Diet blog and ongoing hyper-locavore project. It’s called The One-Block Feast, and editor Margo True tells us, “We just thought that sounded more attractive than a ‘diet.’” The subtitle: An Adventure in Food from Yard to Table. To help celebrate and promote the book they’re doing a contest, with a March 30th deadline, seeking entries from people who want to use the book to create their own, end-of-summer, one-block feast with friends and neighbors. The cash prize of $500 is hardly the point, as winning will basically mean you’re the 2011 Champions of Urban Homesteading, and the envy of slow foodists the nation over.
