There's a new pizza joint cum bocce court with fire pit coming to the Sausalito waterfront: Bar Bocce, from chef Robert Price of Buckeye Roadhouse and owner Bill Higgins and partners. As Eater reports, in addition to the bocce, winesicles (!), and vermouth- and sherry-based cocktails, the menu will feature "a unique new style of pizza with sourdough crust that's 'more of a meal in itself' with toppings like Dungeness crab, Meyer Lemon and avocado creme fraiche or pork sausage, fennel pollen and scallions." Isn't pizza always a meal in itself? And sourdough crusts aren't anything new. But we're sure it'll taste just swell.
They're aiming for a mid-March opening, next door to Paradise Bay, which is soon becoming Salito's.
