You've heard about the big plans along the Embarcadero for a series of complexes/pavilions befitting of a yacht race for the 2013 America's Cup? We mentioned that Teatro ZinZanni has only one more year left to live before they'll be evicted off Port property, but it turns out Pier 23 Café and the Hi Dive are safe. The Scoop now finds that though Red's Java House, at the other end of the Embarcadero, isn't in any danger from the America's Cup plans, it is eventually in danger because the Port wants the property it sits on for an eventual seawall development on Piers 30 and 32.
We're talking five to seven years down the line, but still.
Look for business to boom at all these waterfront restaurants during the America's Cup, two years from now, including Butterfly, Waterfront and Lafitte assuming they're all still in business by then.
