Kim Alter's much anticipated and much delayed Sausalito project, Plate Shop, is finally seeing the light with a grand opening tomorrow night, Tuesday, February 8. The tagline is "handcrafted California food and drink," and give or take a dish or two, this sample menu still stands. Take a look inside the space (formerly Gatsby's and Rustico's, 39 Caledonia Street), now tricked out with lots of bare wood and bare bulbs.
Also, take a look back at the interview we did with Kim in August, in which she talks about her restaurant garden, and her experience working with Jeremy Fox at Ubuntu, and as executive sous chef at Aqua.
Plate Shop - 39 Caledonia Street, Sausalito - opening February 8 - 415.887.9047 - Dinner served weeknights 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and until 10:00 p.m. on weekends. Closed on Mondays. Bar opens at 4 p.m.
