The replacement concept for Holly’s Comedy Club, which opened and shut at 1000 Van Ness within just six weeks last fall, will be called The Showroom on Van Ness, in tribute to owner Kjell Qvale’s (pronounced “shell kah-volley”) long history as a car salesman on the avenue — he still owns British Motor Car Distributors at 901 Van Ness. It’s going to be a restaurant, on the second floor off the lobby, but that’s about all we know. Official details, we’re sure, are on their way. [Grub Street]
