Daniel Patterson (Coi) and David Chang (Momofuku in NY) were featured in the Sunday Chron, alongside Puccini & Pinetti and Anthony Myint (Mission Chinese, Commonwealth), in a story about restaurants with charity components. But sadly, because the Chron maintains the ridiculous Web 1.0 habit of holding big Sunday stories to publish online on Tuesday, and because we don’t like to get our fingers dirty with ink, we can not show you just yet. One of these days, perhaps, the Chron will stop seeing the internet as the enemy. Until then, we wait. Update: The story is up now, and alas, there are some good details.

Among them, Patterson plans to donate time this year to the Larkin Street Youth Clinic, teaching cooking and food knowledge, and helping the clinic broaden their own food offerings, since they feed over 200 people a day. He plans to host some benefit dinners for the clinic at Plum and Coi featuring guest chefs, including Chang, with a prix fixe of $250 or more.

The article also mentions Nancy Oakes, who’s been working for years with Meals on Wheels, organizing their annual chef gala which netted $1.3 million last year; Anthony Myint, whose still new restaurants have already raised tens of thousands for food charities; and Puccini & Pinetti, which participates in Larkin Street’s internship program.
