Show Dogs Owners Really Wish Market Street Would Hurry Up and Revitalize

Gayle Pirie, chef and co-owner of Foreign Cinema and co-owner of Show Dogs at Market and 6th Street, tells the Journal this week that she was “led astray” by developer David Addington, who wooed her into the neighborhood promising that it was a burgeoning arts district. Things haven’t changed quickly enough for her, since opening in 2009, and she notes that “the often-dark theaters don’t draw enough traffic.” Does this mean Show Dogs might not stay long? And might this have something to do with the reported indefinite postponement of Foreign Cinema’s earlier plans for a Warfield-adjacent, full-service restaurant?
