Shabu Pub Replaces Mazu, Baia Coming to Oakland, and More

Inner Richmond: No sooner did we hear of the shuttering of Mazu, but we find that Shabu Pub from proprietor Edmond Chang seems to be already open at 3809 Geary. [Grub Street]

Downtown: We told you about Cupola earlier this week, Lark Creek’s pizza joint in the Westfield, and now Eater shows us the architects’ renderings. [Eater]

Oakland: Coming to Old Oakland is a small, new Sicilian-influenced restaurant called Baia (465 Ninth Street), with only 25 seats, from chef Edward Higgins. Look for it in October or thereabouts. [Scoop]

San Mateo: A new Japanese small plates place called Inshou (2942 S Norfolk), from chef-owner Ray Wu, just opened, and Food Gal has photos. [Food Gal]
