It Is Just Not Cool to Be Drunk and Disorderly in Downtown Walnut Creek

“These quiet streets sometimes turn rowdy,” reports ABC 7 correspondent Amy Hollyfield, live from the killing fields of downtown Walnut Creek. Because of some recent incidents of late-night, post-bar-hopping mayhem, including a videotaped street fight and an incident in which a woman spat in a police officer’s eye, the Walnut Creek City Council is considering a crackdown of some kind on alcohol-related violence. Such atrocities as peeing in planters will not stand, by god. Proposed rules may include the forced, staggered closure of downtown bars and restaurants, a change to which business owners are likely to react poorly.
