It’s that time of year again, when pork/Pinot Noir fans gather at Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen in Healdsburg for Pigs & Pinot, the sixth annual high-class orgy of eating and drinking, Sonoma-style. Attendees get to taste 50 excellent wines alongside a bevy of porky dishes prepared by local and celebrity chefs, and there are also various seminars and a big gala dinner on March 19. Back again this year for the fun is Palmer acolyte and Top Chef runner-up Bryan Voltaggio along with his brother Michael this time, so expect a lot of talk about that brotherly rivalry. Regular tickets to the weekend’s events go on sale January 21, and will sell out in, like, hours. But due to the crazy demand last year which resulted in many unhappy people not getting tickets, the Hotel Healdsburg is doing a lottery for weekend packages, which closes just before midnight tomorrow, January 12.
