Leah Garchik, who like us must have had to hear from someone else about Chez Panisse's holiday card, tells us today that the card included a save-the-date message for the restaurant's 40th anniversary, which is coming up in August. To wit: "Join us for a procession, a concert, a film, a meal for 5,000 people at the Greek Theatre." A procession? Alice even said, "You're all invited" to the assembled hundreds at the Good Food Awards Friday. The August event will be a benefit for the Chez Panisse Foundation, and will clearly require a few metric tons of Little Gem lettuces. [Garchik/Chron]
