Brewpub Coming to Post and Polk, Maharani Closing

Photo: Collin Keefe

A brewpub is coming to 1122 Post Street (between Polk and Van Ness), and so it appears that Maharani Indian restaurant, which has been fond of giving away free bottles of wine, is not long for this world. The name of the brewing company is Bitters Bock and Rye, but it’s unclear what the business name will be from the liquor license app. Owners Ron and Holly Kirkpatrick are the former owners of Tonic on Polk Street, which they sold to Duncan Ley and Benjamin Bleiman in 2008. We’re probably a couple of months out on the brewpub, at the very least. File under: DEVELOPING. [Grub Street]
