Zaré at Fly Trap Importing Emu Eggs for Off-Menu, Eight-Person Carbonara

Photo: Thrillist

Today in over-the-top dish news: Zaré at Fly Trap is doing a dish involving a gigantic, green-shelled emu egg, which is eight to ten times the size of a chicken egg, as the dude-consumption curators at Thrillist inform us today. You apparently have to order the dish ahead, on a Monday, and the restaurant will fly an emu egg in from an East Coast farm, take a drill to it, and plop it on top of a family-sized plate of spaghetti carbonara for up to eight people. We’re actually a little glad we don’t have a photo of the finished dish, to tell you the truth. We’re not sure we could handle it. [Thrillist]
