Pudong opened earlier this week up in Safeway Heights (near the Castro) in the former Mecca digs, and the concept is Shangainese with some French elements but whatever you do, don't call it fusion. The chef is Jason Xu, formerly of Shanghai 1930, and the general layout remains the same, with the large central bar, tables up front along the tinted windows, and curtained booths around the perimeter. Take a look inside at the remodel, via our slideshow.
