Jacques Pépin: Chanteur!

In promotion of the upcoming PBS series, Essential Pépin, which just wrapped shooting at KQED in San Francisco, KQED released this little video of Jacques Pépin performing a classic French song, “Les Feuilles Mortes” by Jacques Prévert, which Johnny Mercer translated into English as “Autumn Leaves.” Watch as S.F. Symphony conductor Michael Tilson Thomas coaches Jacques to accompany him, on whisk and copper bowl, and then hear Jacques actually sing it pretty well!

Also, sidenote: The old guy has been steadily celebrating his 75th birthday for like three months, but it turns out his actual birthday was on Saturday. Bon anniversaire, chef.
