Eat Some Late-Night Mexican Using Very High-End Stuff From Benu’s Kitchen

The Benu kitchen, which is technically at the front of the house.

There's a new food/shopping blog in our midst: The Feast SF, which just officially launched yesterday, and food editor Tamara Palmer (SFoodie) brings news that Corey Lee is trying to launch a late-night food stand on Saturday nights/Sunday mornings from 1:30 to 2:30 a.m. to help use up whatever leftover product he has in the Benu kitchen. The restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday, and Lee says, "there's a lot of product that we either have to use for the staff meal [Saturday night] or give away or we just lose and that's certainly a problem." There's a fair amount of foot traffic in the neighborhood to different bars and clubs, so Lee is applying to the Planning Commission to allow a couple of his porters to operate a Mexican food stand for that one hour as the clubs are letting out. Bring on the sweetbread tacos!
