Chicago’s First Michelin Guide Released, With Alinea and L20 Both Scoring Three Stars

It took the Bay Area five years to get a second three-star restaurant, after The French Laundry held the spot in our Michelin Guide since the French tire concern first started rating our food scene. But Chicago landed two triple-stars right off the bat as their first Michelin Guide ratings got first leaked by a Yelper, and then officially released yesterday. At the top of the list, as predicted, is Grant Achatz’s temple of haute experimentation, Alinea, as well as L20 which receives the honor just a week after chef Laurent Gras dramatically announced he was taking a leave of absence from the place. The two-star list is brief, too: Charlie Trotter’s, Ria, and Avenues. [Grub Street Chi]
