7x7 Updates Best Burger List, Snubs Marlowe

Refusing to be swayed by Bauer and his legion of followers, 7x7 goes their own way with a new list of the ten best burgers in town and blatantly leaves off Marlowe. They’re within their rights, of course, not to believe that Jennifer Puccio’s deliciously seasoned mixture of beef and lamb topped with bacon and horseradish aioli isn’t all that, but given that this is supposed to be an update of the list they did last year, we feel like there ought to be at least one 2010 newcomer on there. Instead, they stick to a tried and true list of age-old faves, like Zuni, Serpentine, Bix, and Spruce, with only one change to the list since ‘09: Bar Tartine’s burger replaces the now shuttered Acme Chophouse. Also, we should point out, that there’s a caste system in 7x7’s world of bests, in which no burger under $12 appears to have been eligible. No In & Out? No Super Duper? Fear not, Grub Street will be updating our Burger Register soon.
