Patricia Unterman says she “felt like a tourist in my own city” walking into the vast, New York-y space that is Prospect. But she quickly warmed up with a cocktail and some of Ravi Kapur’s food, and she ends up making an 80s reference in raving about the vibe overall: “Prospect is big, luxurious, bustling — a 21st-century Stars, a new urban crossroad.” As for her favorite dishes, she loves Ravi’s chicken sausage disguised on the menu as “organic chicken” and the “pristine” halibut. She also says his oft-mentioned, edgy, pig trotters and lobster dish “has become one of my favorite dishes in town.” [Examiner]

In SF Mag, Josh Sens writes that chef Carlo Espinas’s food at Comstock Saloon, “elevates [the bar] beyond a period piece.” He especially likes the Fisherman’s Salad and the crock of beans, and recommends washing it down with a pisco punch, “San Francisco’s signature libation back when sailors still got scurvy—and no one checked his iPhone at the bar.” [SF Mag]
