Despite telling Food Gal last week how much he dislikes oats and would never use them at Meadowood, acclaimed chef Christopher Kostow still managed to beat Iron Chef Cat Cora by one point in Battle Oats on this week's Iron Chef America. This marks the second Bay Area triumph on the show in recent weeks, following Dominique Crenn's trouncing of Michael Symon. Watch as judges Liliana Cavendish, critic Nina Griscom, and Esquire editor Ryan D'Agostino coo and rave over his dishes, which include an oatmeal pudding that Nina and Liliana compare to risotto and polenta, respectively, and an oatmeal-battered fried cod.
Also, here's the moment where the winner is announced, and Cat Cora pretends to be cool with it.
