Another Documentary Tries to Turn Food Inc. Frown Upside Down

A new food documentary called Fresh has found a distributor, and like the in production TV series Food Forward, it aims to be less of a downer than Food Inc. by putting a positive spin on the industrial farming crisis. The film focuses on farmers (or as one of the subjects refers to himself “caretaker[s] of Creation”) and retailers who are doing the sustainable food movement proud. And there is a healthy dose of Michael Pollan’s talking head, too. The San Francisco Examiner writes that while the film is “not mind-boggling or earth shattering,” it “presents hopeful, interesting examples of environmentally sound farming and eating.”
