Michael Chiarello Wants to Teach You Calabrese Cooking

Top Chef Masters runner-up Michael Chiarello is bestowing a new cookbook on the world called Bottega, filled with recipes and pantry suggestions from his Southern Italian restaurant in the Napa Valley. “The Bottega cookbook is a tribute to all of our loyal diners,” says Chiarello. The two-year-old restaurant’s popularity has been due in part to his Food Network and Bravo TV fame, but for those who can’t make it to wine country you can now own a piece of the magic and teach yourself how to make Calabrese-inspired dishes like budini di pecorino fulvi and grilled swordfish alla Barcaiola. The book officially comes out September 29, but you can find Chiarello signing copies at various branches of his NapaStyle stores in the first weeks of September. (Note that, because he’s famous, some of these events require pre-purchased tickets or RSVP. Check here for details.)
