Brett and Nathan Niebergall, the ambitious young chefs behind the short-lived, pricey, but fairly well received Frisée in the Castro (in the space that’s already turned over twice since then, now Bisou) have popped again on the foodie radar doing what all kitchenless chefs are doing these days: a food truck. As SFoodie reports, The Southern Sandwich Co. is already on the run from Redwood City police, and the Niebergalls are fast at work getting the proper permits to roll into S.F.

“We thought we were ahead of the curve,” Nathan tells SFoodie, in re: the street food trend. “It turns out, now we’re behind.”

In any event, we’re looking forward to some golden brown hush puppies, Carolina-style pulled pork, and a smoked beef sausage sandwich on a glossy, toasted roll.
