Coming Soon to South Beach: 25 Lusk

The South Beach ‘hood will get another big new restaurant this fall called 25 Lusk, named for its address on a lesser known alley off Townsend between 3rd and 4th Streets. As Tablehopper reports today, “The building was originally the Ogden Packing and Provision smokehouse and meat processing facility, and all of the original exposed brick and massive timbers remain in place.” The chef will be Matthew Dolan, formerly of Garibaldi’s and Emeril’s in New Orleans, and the design will be by Cass Calder Smith. They’re aiming for a September opening.

The only hints about the style of cuisine aren’t all that helpful (“sophisticated, contemporary, approachable fine dining specializing in neoclassical-influenced cuisine”), but suffice it to say this will be a very large and fancy-sounding restaurant at 120 seats, with an additional lounge level and 30-seat private dining area.

Along with Coco500, Marlowe, Public House/Mijita, Fringale, Ironside, MoMo’s, Orson, and the new Alexander’s Steakhouse going into the Bacar space, this is officially a very well fed part of town.
