The Paris culinary hipsters behind Le Fooding are rubbing their hands with excitation as they announce the heavyweight lineup for September's Le Grand Fooding battle between New York and San Francisco, as Inside Scoop SF reports. Last year's event, the first of its kind, threw NY foodies into fits as they watched six local chefs in a BBQ deathmatch against six Paris chefs, with the results being a bit mixed and disorganized. This year's event will play off the rivalry that writer Kim Severson recently likened to a "frustrated, put-upon, wealthier" older sister (New York) and the "gorgeous younger sister... that everyone's attracted to" (San Francisco). See the full lineup of chefs from each coast below, which includes Nate Appleman, who traitorously switched sides last year.
Also, there'll be a pizza throwdown between Pizzaiolo’s Charlie Hallowell and PizzaMoto’s Pamela Woods, as well as a cocktail throwdown between Erick Castro of Rickhouse and Jim Meehan of PDT. Battle royale, indeed.
