Sixth Street may be as cracky and colorful as ever, but the latest arrival on this ever-improving corridor is Rancho Parnassus, a café and restaurant at the corner of Minna serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 6 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Saturday. The interior is quirky to say the least, with various objects (hubcaps, statuary, a fake cactus) collected by the owner, much of it from Moving Sale on Howard Street.

We’ll post the full menu for you shortly, for those who frequent or live near this ‘hood, which features some hearty breakfast items, paninis, Afghan bolanis, local beers, wines, coffee, soda, and kombucha. (We also should note that the Weekly’s Katy St. Clair recently dropped in on the place and geeked out over the music of the Carpenters with one of the staff.)

Alongside Passion Café, the almost-open John’s Burgers, Tu Lan, Split Pea Seduction, Show Dogs, and the just opened Waffle Mania, and the soon-to-arrive Subway, Sixth Street has really come a long way since 2008. Just don’t be waving around any cash or stopping too long to consider your surroundings.
