Alas, as predicted, SF's hometown heroes in the Best New Restaurant category split the votes and NY's Marea took that prize. But Grub Street's stalwart NY correspondent Helen Rosner was on hand at Lincoln Center last night, shooting pictures and chatting up attendees at the 2010 James Beard Awards. Here, for your clicking pleasure, we have a few photos of local California winners, including Best Chef in the Pacific region David Kinch with girlfriend Pim Techamuanvivit (of Chez Pim fame), and Thomas Keller hugging protégé Timothy Hollingsworth, who took home this year's Rising Star prize.
Also, a few shots of the artful food being served after the ceremony (which some started tucking into early, as award shows always feel a little long), and a candid shot of our very own Tablehopper, Marcia Gagliardi, waiting for her close-up.
