Sixth Street: Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken has moved across the street and is now co-habitating with Donut World at the lively corner of Sixth and Market. Coming soon in its place at 6 Sixth Street is something called John Burger, which will feature, obviously, burgers, but also fish and chips, and something called a fried burrito. Isn’t that also called a chimichanga? [Grub Street]
North Beach: Via today’s Entertainment Commission agenda, we see that an entity called Matthew, Arvin, Nader and Matt Incorporated have their sights set on DragonBar (473 Broadway) for a new bar/lounge that will go by the name Monroe. File under: DEVELOPING. [Grub Street]

Sunset: The family who owns the three Fresca restaurants in SF are opening Pasión in the former PJ’s Oysterbed space (737 Irving). The new place will feature “modern Nuevo Latino small plates and tapas, with Peruvian soul, but also Caribbean, Central and South American influences.” They’re targeting July for their opening. Marina: Marengo on Union is coming in mid-May to 1980 Union Street, in the former U Street Lounge space. As Eater reports, the booze program will be whiskey-centric, and the menu will feature appetizers, entrée salads, and an assortment of sliders made with various meats from chef Rayna Toomajian, the wife of co-owner Kevin Toomajian. Oakland: Skewers, a Middle Eastern shawerma joint, just opened in the Uptown area at 1999 Harrison (at 20th). Cooking with the Single Guy gives it a thumbs up, and compares it to some similar New York shawerma and falafel places, but he says steer clear of the packaged salads. [Cooking with the Single Guy]
