Daniel Patterson to Open Plum in Oakland, Brooke Arthur Leaves Range, and More

Uptown Oakland: After interminable delays that have been preventing the Coi team from opening Bracina at Jack London Square, chef Daniel Patterson announced this week that he’d be opening a casual cousin to Coi called Plum by early summer with a “uniquely American” menu from Il Cane Rosso’s Lauren Kiino. The place will ultimately have a bar attached too with a cocktail program from artisanal barman Scott Beattie. [Inside Scoop/Chron]
SOMA: Eater breaks the news that one of our favorite bartenders about town, Brooke Arthur, will be leaving Range in order to take the helm of the beverage program at Nancy Oakes and Ravi Kapur’s upcoming venture Prospect at the Infinity Tower. [Eater]

Polk Gulch: The former De Afghan space at 1303 Polk Street appears to have a new tenant: Aicha. More on this as we figure it out. [Grub Street]
Cow Hollow: We’re still looking out for the opening of American Cupcake (1919 Union), which as Eater shows us has a space-age interior. In addition to the ubiquitous little cakes, they’ll be serving beer and wine as well as a savory menu. [Eater, Earlier]
