As the Chron and others are reporting, Taylor’s Automatic Refresher becomes Gott’s Roadside Tray Gourmet today. Owners Joel and Duncan Gott had been trying to purchase the name from the original owners, but were unable to come to a deal, and now they say they are “proud” to be giving the business their family name, and they’re celebrating tonight with a free giveaway at the Ferry Building location (as well as at the other two Napa Valley locations) with free burgers, ahi burgers, “Seoul” kimchi and pork burgers, as well as fries, drinks, and ice cream sandwiches from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

They’ve also rehired their original chef, Rick Robinson, who says, he’ll “be pursuing an even higher level of cooking that showcases more boutique ingredients from local ranchers, farmers and purveyors,” he said. The menu will remain mostly the same but will see the addition of an Ahi poke salad and an upscale tuna melt.
