Booze You Can Use

Mark Leno Comes to the Rescue of Infused Booze

The weekend yielded a quick update in the story of the California Alcoholic Beverage Control board cracking down on infused liquors. As Golden Gate Restaurant Association reports, the ABC is taking two weeks to “evaluate if they could simply change the policy through an administrative adjustment which would allow on-sale licensees to make and serve infusions,” just so long as the infusions don’t increase the alcohol content. If the policy turns out to require a statute change, State Senator Mark Leno has agreed to push whatever legislation through to get the change made. There’s some peach-infused bourbon waiting for you next time we see you, Mark. Cheers.
