Just a reminder to all: the long-awaited Passion Café swings open its doors today, offering up French bistro cuisine in the wilds of Sixth and Market. We mentioned earlier that this opening marks a big step in the slow-as-molasses gentrification process of this particular part of town, where many people remain afraid to walk, especially after dark. But given that it marks only the second rooftop dining option in town after Medjool, we expect a loyal band of sun-starved patrons to emerge from their SOMA lofts and Tenderloin hovels to fill that patio just as often as the weather allows.
